While working on observational drawing studies, I chose a playful and unexpected subject: a banana taped to a wall. Inspired by the simplicity and humor of the idea, I created a series of drawings experimenting with different materials and approaches.

I began by drawing the banana with pencil, focusing on capturing the shapes, shading, and structure. Then, I moved to colored pencils, adding the banana’s vibrant yellow hues to bring it to life. 💗
For the third piece, I painted the banana in an orange tone and layered colored pencil details on top, creating a bold reinterpretation of the original subject.

Lastly, I experimented with a more playful approach: I drew the duct tape in colored pencil, cut out the exact shape of my drawing, and then mounted it on a clean background, combining it with real duct tape.👩🎨🤩

This final piece, blending drawing and real material, became my favorite — it pushed the boundary between two-dimensional art and sculptural expression.
The process was so much fun, and it taught me how an ordinary object can transform into something imaginative through observation, experimentation, and a little humor.
Here is a video of the behind scene of producing these work! Enjoy!
