Facial Conversation
Drawing Collage series 2025
Facial Conversation is a series of portrait collages that explores the fragmented nature of identity and perception. Each work begins as a hand-drawn or painted portrait and is then digitally reassembled, creating faces that appear both familiar and estranged.
This series examines the face as a site of dialogue — between what is spoken and what is withheld, between recognition and distortion. By rearranging eyes, mouths, and expressions — distorting gazes, stitching eyes, and amplifying smiles — the portraits exaggerate emotion and fracture identity, revealing the tension between individuality and multiplicity.
These faces do not remain silent: they whisper, argue, and converse within themselves, becoming both witness and mask. The result is a visual dialogue that feels uncanny yet intimate, inviting the viewer to reflect on how culture, memory, and perception continually reshape what we see — and what truths we believe a face can hold.
